BREAKING: Alleged Certificate Forgery: Tinubu’s Minister Steps Down

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, following allegations of forgery leveled against him.

Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation on Monday in a letter addressed to the President, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.

In his letter, the former minister claimed he had become a target of blackmail by political opponents, which necessitated his decision to step down.

President Tinubu, while accepting his resignation, commended Nnaji for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
