BUA Group has denied reports claiming that its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, submitted a bid to acquire a 70 per cent stake in Kano Pillars Football Club.
In a statement issued on Monday, the company described the report as false and clarified that neither BUA Group nor Rabiu had made any offer or entered into discussions with any individual or organisation regarding the purchase of shares in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club.
The company urged the public and stakeholders to disregard the report, saying it was inaccurate and unfounded.
BUA also advised journalists and members of the public to rely only on information released through its official communication channels for updates concerning its activities.
Kano Pillars, popularly known as “Sai Masu Gida,” is one of Nigeria’s oldest and most supported football clubs. The club is owned and funded by the Kano State Government.
Rabiu, a Kano indigene, is one of Africa’s richest businessmen, with an estimated net worth of more than $14 billion, according to Forbes.
