BREAKING: 1980 AFCON Winner Henry Nwosu Dies After Brief Illness

Henry Nwosu, a former Nigerian international footballer and member of the team that won the 1980 African Cup of Nations, has passed away.

His death was confirmed on Saturday by fellow former international, Segun Odegbami, in a post shared on Facebook.

Odegbami revealed that Nwosu died after spending several days in hospital.

“After five days in hospital battling for his life, the one I call ‘Youngest Millionaire’ passed on at 4:00 a.m. this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where he had been in intensive care since Wednesday,” he wrote.
