The Campaign Blueprint Committee for Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s 2027 re-election bid has held its inaugural meeting, setting in motion plans to develop a comprehensive policy document to guide the administration’s proposed second-term agenda from 2027 to 2031.
The meeting, held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, focused on reviewing the implementation of the governor’s 2023 campaign blueprint, “My Commitment for Kano,” while commencing work on a new Blueprint 2.0 aimed at consolidating the achievements of the current administration and shaping future development priorities.
Chaired by Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, the committee comprises experienced administrators, heads of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), special advisers, academics, former commissioners, and managing directors.
During the session, members reviewed a draft framework proposing 16 strategic pillars grouped under six thematic areas. The framework is supported by strategic objectives, key activities, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) intended to measure implementation and outcomes.
According to the committee, the blueprint will articulate Governor Yusuf’s priorities and strategic vision for a second term, with members resolving to consult stakeholders from both government and non-government sectors to generate policy recommendations and innovative ideas for an inclusive and people-driven development agenda.
The committee said the consultations are expected to strengthen the administration’s “Kano First Agenda” while building on the progress recorded during the governor’s first term.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba stressed the importance of teamwork, professionalism, patriotism, and resilience in delivering the committee’s mandate.
Committee members also pledged their commitment to the assignment, emphasizing the need for broad stakeholder engagement to ensure citizens contribute to the development of the blueprint.
As part of its resolutions, the committee agreed to meet twice weekly—one virtual session and one physical meeting—to produce a draft blueprint scheduled for launch by Governor Yusuf in September 2026. The document will also serve as the basis for town hall meetings with stakeholders and media engagements throughout the 2027 election campaign.
The committee will operate under the supervision of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo. It is also expected to request memoranda from serving commissioners to enrich the blueprint and promote inclusiveness in the policy development process.
