Tinubu: God Has Granted My Prayer to Continue Leading Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria, saying Almighty Allah has answered his prayer for the wisdom and resilience to continue serving the country.

The President made this known on Monday while reflecting on his recent spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, during which he was granted the rare privilege of entering the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah to offer prayers.

Tinubu expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of the Nigerian delegation access to the sacred site.

He described the experience as a historic and deeply cherished spiritual moment, reflecting the strong relationship between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

The President said he prayed for wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians, expressing confidence that his prayers had been answered.

“I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that prayer has been granted,” he said.

Tinubu recalled that he performed a similar spiritual exercise before the 2023 presidential election, when he prayed for Allah’s blessings and promised to return in gratitude.

Quoting Surah Aal-Imran, verse 26 of the Holy Qur’an, the President said power and authority belong ultimately to Almighty Allah, who gives and takes them according to His will.

He stressed that political authority is a trust that must be exercised with humility, responsibility and commitment to public service.

Tinubu described his emergence as Nigeria’s President and Commander-in-Chief as a special blessing from God, which must be matched with dedicated service to the nation.

He also pledged to intensify his commitment to national development, promising to pursue policies and programmes aimed at promoting prosperity and improving the lives of Nigerians.

On the economy, the President expressed optimism about the progress recorded under his administration, describing the country’s economic foundation as solid and saying Nigeria had emerged from a difficult period.

He, however, emphasised the need for sustained investment in young Nigerians, warning that the decisions taken by current leaders would determine how future generations remember them.

“We need to build a future for our youth. If we don’t invest in their future, how do we want to be remembered as leaders 50 years from now?” he said.
