The Kano State House of Assembly has received a request from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the screening and confirmation of two additional commissioner nominees, including the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The second nominee is Hon. Balarabe Sa’idu Gani.
The House is expected to screen the two nominees on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
In a press statement issued on Monday, the Chief Press Secretary to the Assembly, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, said the request was conveyed through a letter from Governor Yusuf.
He added that the screening would be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The statement said the exercise would be conducted under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa currently serves as the governor’s spokesperson and is among the two nominees expected to appear before lawmakers for confirmation.
