As the elders say, integrity, humility, selflessness, and hard work can lead a person to success in life. This perfectly describes how I have seen the life of Sunusi Bature unfold.
In all the years we have spent together, I have always felt a deep sense of joy seeing Sunusi as someone I relate with closely — connected through work that brought us together at different times and in different places. I have keenly followed how he has risen from one level to another. It was journalism that shaped his future development.
And since his time as the Spokesperson to His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and as Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kano State, Sunusi Bature has continued to demonstrate competence, professionalism, and mastery in public engagement. His resilience, humility and loyalty — not only to His Excellency the Governor but to everyone he interacts with — has earned him greater respect among all.
We continue to follow his work, and indeed, he brings us great joy and continues to show us a light that will continue to shine unto a greater future, by the grace of Allah.
I am highly impressed and proud of you as a friend, brother, and professional colleague in the field of media broadcasting, human relations, communication strategy, leadership and management.
Sunusi is clearly demonstrating how a young, promising journalist can eventually become a model for many. Dawakin Tofa has also clearly demonstrated how he started from humble beginnings to become much more than an ordinary communication strategist.
On a daily basis, Bature shows how a spokesperson can go the extra mile to defend his principal. Political associates, citizens and professional colleagues all testify to how agile the spokesman is and how much commitment he has shown to the yearnings of his people.
We have also seen how professionally he handles his colleagues, maintaining cordial relationships with both local and international partners.
On the other hand, the people of Dawakin Tofa are super proud of your steady rise and your generosity, among other virtues.
We are living witnesses, as your brothers and colleagues, of how you began a successful career journey from Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor, to Director General, Media and Publicity, and now Commissioner and Member of the State Executive Council.
