The Executive Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Hon. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, has moved to clarify recent media reports that sparked controversy over remarks he made during a meeting with local youth and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shekwolo explained that his comments had been taken out of context and sensationalized across various platforms, creating what he described as a “distorted narrative” of his administration’s values.
He emphasized that the meeting in question was focused on administrative efficiency, local development, and community welfare, not exclusionary policies.

Addressing reporters, stakeholders, and community leaders, the Chairman stressed that he holds no authority to disenfranchise any resident of Kuje Area Council from their fundamental rights.
He reiterated that his administration remains committed to equitable governance and serving the best interests of all constituents.
“At no point did I intend to cause disaffection, undermine any group, or promote policies that do not serve the best interest of our citizens,” Shekwolo stated during the briefing.
The Chairman further highlighted that his government’s guiding principles are rooted in inclusivity, fairness, and transparency.
He assured residents that political affiliation, ethnic background, or religious beliefs would never be used as criteria for access to development projects or social services.
Shekwolo also underscored the importance of the press as a critical pillar of democracy, urging journalists to uphold professional standards by verifying the full context of statements before publication.
He noted that responsible reporting is essential to maintaining public trust and preventing unnecessary division within communities.
