A member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has said that opposition figures, particularly Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, have yet to demonstrate a credible strategy capable of defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Gagdi said the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains confident of retaining power, arguing that the ruling party has been far more active politically than any opposition party across the country.
The Plateau lawmaker also urged politicians to avoid politicising Nigeria’s security challenges, stressing that all stakeholders should unite in the fight against terrorism. He added that while constructive criticism of government is necessary, it should be driven by national interest rather than electoral ambitions.
