NDC: Our Party Is Not a One-Man Organisation

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that it is not a one-man organisation or a temporary political platform that can be used and discarded, stressing that it is a structured institution built for long-term sustainability.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the party said its National Executive Committee (NEC) had reaffirmed the supremacy of the party, emphasizing that all programmes, policies and appointments made by governments elected on its platform must be carried out in consultation with the party.

The NDC also stated that all affiliated groups and non-governmental organisations linked to the party would operate under its guidance and control and must not function independently of the party structure.

The party announced the establishment of a National Reconciliation Committee to address grievances among members following allegations by some aspirants that candidates were imposed during the party’s primary elections.

It further disclosed plans to introduce a code of conduct for party officials and candidates, while strengthening transparency, accountability and adherence to due process in the management of party affairs.

The NDC reiterated that all campaign donations and other financial contributions must be paid into designated party accounts. It added that candidates would be required to disclose all funds raised and expenditures incurred during their campaigns to ensure transparency and accountability.
