FCT Minister Flags Off Airlift of Pilgrims for 2026 Hajj

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, on Thursday flagged off the airlift of pilgrims from the FCT for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the minister urged the intending pilgrims to serve as good ambassadors of Nigeria and abide by international laws throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.

She also cautioned female pilgrims to be vigilant in matters relating to currency exchange and advised them to properly safeguard their NUSUK cards.

Dr. Bunkure further assured the pilgrims that officials assigned to the Hajj operation would work diligently to ensure a smooth exercise, including the provision of quality feeding arrangements as planned.
