Court Grants Sowore N200m Bail, Orders Two Sureties

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and online publisher, Omoyele Sowore, in the sum of N200 million.

Justice Mohammed Umar ruled that Sowore must provide two sureties to perfect his bail. One of the sureties must be a traditional ruler from his community, while the other must own landed property in Abuja.

The court further directed that both sureties be verified by the prosecution.

Justice Umar also ordered Sowore to surrender his international passport to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.

The court, however, ruled that Sowore should remain in custody until he fulfils all the bail conditions.
