Troops of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai, have destroyed several suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideouts and logistics bases during ongoing clearance operations in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Insiders told our source that the operation is targeting suspected insurgents who fled the Lake Chad Islands and the Timbuktu Triangle and are believed to have taken refuge in communities within the local government area.
According to the sources, troops discovered and destroyed multiple camps and other structures allegedly used by the insurgents as logistics bases and operational hideouts.
The ongoing clearance operation is concentrated around Mahdiyya, Lagarawa, Lamusheri, Ngarbai and Wulle communities, where troops are conducting systematic sweeps to flush out the remaining insurgents and deny them freedom of movement.
