BREAKING: Court Convicts Former Power Minister Saleh Mamman of Money Laundering

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has convicted former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, over allegations of money laundering.

The trial judge, Justice James Omotosho, found Mamman guilty on all 12 counts filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Delivering judgment, the court held that the anti-graft agency successfully proved its case against the former minister beyond reasonable doubt.

Saleh Mamman served as Nigeria’s Minister of Power under former President Muhammadu Buhari from August 21, 2019, until September 1, 2021, before he was removed during a cabinet reshuffle.

Further details on the ruling and sentencing are expected later.
