Shehu Sani: Dadiyata was El-Rufai’s critic, not Ganduje’s

Some persons had accused the government of El-Rufai of being responsible for the fate of the missing activist, saying they probably went after him because of his criticism.

When this matter was brought up during an interview on ARISE NEWS, the former governor said Dadiyata was not a critic of the Kaduna State government but of the Kano State government.

“Dadiyata’s timeline is still around, go and study it. He was not a fierce critic of the Kaduna State Government; he was a fierce critic of the Kano State Government. He’s from Kano, he’s a Kwankwasiyya guy, he lived in Kaduna and lectured at a university in Katsina State. Go and review his timeline. It was Ganduje that was his problem,” he had said.

But responding in a post on his X handle, Sani said Dadiyata was a critic of the Kaduna State Government, not Kano State.

“Dadiyata was an outspoken critic of Kaduna State Government and Governor and NOT of Kano State or Ganduje. He is from Kaduna and lives in Kaduna with his family. Everyone in Kaduna knows the critical views of that young man.” he wrote.

Sani, also a human rights activist, claimed that there had been no official statement from the Kaduna State Government regarding the incident, nor any official visit to Dadiyata’s family since his disappearance.

“Since his abduction, there was never an official statement by the Kaduna State Government and no official visit to his family. Everyone in Kaduna was afraid to talk about Dadiyata, including the Police and the state house of Assembly. The family of Dadiyata are still around for anyone who wants to hear the truth directly from them.”
