Kano Attorney-General Meets Police Commissioner Over Public Outcry on Motorcyclists’ Arrests

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Kano State, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude (SAN), on Friday met with the Kano State Commissioner of Police to address growing public concerns over the recent arrest of motorcyclists across the state.

The meeting centred on reviewing the enforcement of the Motorcycling and Related Matters (Regulations) Law 2013, with emphasis on ensuring that operations by security agencies remain lawful and do not infringe on the rights of private motorcycle riders.

According to the Attorney-General’s media aide, Abubakar Tijjani Ibrahim, the discussion sought to strengthen coordination between the Ministry of Justice and the Police Command to guarantee proper, rights-respecting enforcement processes.

He added that further details on the outcome of the engagement will be made available in due course.
