The member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, joined millions of Muslims across Nigeria and beyond in mourning the passing of a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Dahiru Usman Bauchi, the supreme leader of the Tijjaniyya sect, died Thursday in Bauchi after a brief illness at the age of 101.
In a condolence message, Abubakar Kabir Bichi described the late cleric as a towering pillar of Islamic scholarship.
He said Bauchi’s life embodied piety, knowledge and unwavering commitment to the spiritual upliftment of humanity.

The lawmaker said that the cleric’s death marked the end of an era, saying his teaching, leadership and peace advocacy have left an indelible mark on generations of Muslims.
He said, “Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi was not just a scholar; he was a guiding light to millions of Muslims. His contributions to knowledge, discipline and peaceful coexistence will remain evergreen.
Abubakar Kabir Bichi extended his condolence to the cleric’s family, disciples, followers and Muslims community in Nigeria and across the globe.
He prayed to Allah the Almighty to forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Jannatul Firdausi.
