Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to dismiss the state’s Commissioner of Police, accusing him of failing to perform his duties effectively.
The governor made the appeal on Wednesday during the 65th Independence Day celebration at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the need for security officials who are honest, impartial, and committed to protecting citizens and their property without favoritism or political influence.
His remarks come amid rising public concern over the management of security in Kano, particularly regarding the police’s involvement in political matters.
