The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with an armed robbery incident in Abuja, recovering a stolen vehicle in the process.
The suspects — identified as Ismail Imran (20), Abdulaziz Yahaya (31), and Musa Ibrahim Isah (29), all of Rigasa Quarters, Kaduna State — were apprehended on September 6, 2025, following a surveillance operation carried out by the police in collaboration with local vigilantes, on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
During the operation, a 2014 Toyota Corolla S (blue, Registration No. KWL-78 DN, with a broken windscreen) was recovered. Investigations revealed that the car had been stolen during an armed robbery attack in Durumi, Abuja, on September 5, 2025, around 2:00 a.m. The vehicle owner confirmed that the suspects attacked his family, inflicted serious injuries on one member, and escaped with the vehicle.
CP Bakori commended the operatives for their swift response and professionalism, noting that the success of the operation reflected the effectiveness of community policing initiatives championed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The suspects are currently in custody and assisting police investigations to uncover the extent of their criminal activities.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to the nearest police station, assuring the public of its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
