President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to embrace and practise the teachings and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President urged Muslims to use the celebration as an opportunity for introspection, prayer and reflection on the life of the Prophet.
Tinubu highlighted devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness as some of the important virtues Muslims and other Nigerians can learn from the Prophet Muhammad’s life.
He also called on Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the country and encourage their followers to demonstrate greater commitment to Nigeria by putting the Prophet’s teachings into practice.
The President further urged Muslims celebrating the occasion to extend support and kindness to the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of Eid-el-Maulud.
He called for continued prayers for an end to insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country.
