The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, has called on residents and political stakeholders to support Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s second-term bid, saying Kano State is experiencing a new dawn.
Falgore said the governor had made significant sacrifices for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged those committed to the state’s progress to unite behind his administration.
The Speaker made the remarks on Saturday during the official inauguration of the KANO FIRST Movement.
He said the movement was focused on supporting the governor’s development agenda and sustaining progress across the state.
“When I look at Kano First, almost 99 per cent have returned and joined hands with the Governor of Kano to implement laudable projects for the development of women, roads, flyovers, pensioners, renovated schools and the provision of potable water across Kano State,” he said.
Falgore urged residents to give Yusuf another opportunity to continue his administration, expressing confidence that the APC would win the 2027 elections.
“We must give the Governor of Kano State the opportunity to continue,” he said.
He added that members of the movement had played significant roles in the political struggle and expressed confidence that their experience and electoral expertise would help secure victory for the party.
Falgore also said political leadership ultimately depended on the will of Allah, urging politicians to avoid conspiracies and underhand tactics in their quest for power.
He expressed confidence that both open and discreet supporters of President Bola Tinubu would contribute to the APC’s success.
“I want to assure you that between those of us who openly support Asiwaju and those who do so secretly, Insha Allah, we shall be victorious. Let those doing it secretly continue. Let everyone return to their constituencies and work tirelessly to ensure the success of the APC,” he said.
The Speaker prayed for continued divine guidance for President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, as well as victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
The statement was signed by Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State House of Assembly.
