The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has appointed former Deputy Governor and former Minister, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, as Director-General of its presidential and gubernatorial campaign management team for the 2027 general elections.
The appointment was contained in a list of 18 members of the Kano State Presidential/Gubernatorial Campaign Management Team signed by the state APC chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa.
According to the announcement, Gwarzo, popularly known as T-Gwarzo, will oversee the day-to-day campaign activities of the party in Kano State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa was appointed Deputy Director-General I, while Dr Yunusa Adamu Dangwani will serve as Deputy Director-General for Kano South.
Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda was appointed Deputy Director-General for Kano North, while Senator Abdussalam Abdulkarim, popularly known as A.A. Zaura, will oversee Kano Central in the same capacity.
The campaign team also appointed Dr Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure as Assistant Director-General for Women Affairs and former Speaker Yusuf Abdullahi Attah as Assistant Director-General for Operations.
Garba Yusuf Abubakar was named Chief Campaign Spokesperson, alongside Sunusi Majidadi Kiru, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, Bashir Sanata and A’isha Shariff as campaign spokespersons.
Other members of the team include Prof. Aliyu Isa Aliyu and Dr Kabiru Sani Yakubu as Administrative Officers I and II, respectively.
Nana Asmau Jibrin was appointed Assistant Secretary, while Aminu Musa Gabasawa and Dr Hamisu Sadi Ali were named Deputy Secretaries II and I, respectively.
Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa was appointed Secretary of the campaign management team.
The announcement, issued by Dawakin Tofa, stated that the directors of the various directorates within the campaign council would be announced in the coming days.
