Barely 24 hours after seven members of a family and three other residents were abducted in Unguwar Sabon-Titi, Katari, bandits have struck again, kidnapping eight members of another family in Kurmin-Uwa near Janjala community in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.
A resident of Kagarko town, Ibrahim Shehu, who confirmed the latest abduction to our reporter through the telephone on Saturday, said the incident happened on Friday, around 10:23 pm.
He said the bandits wielding AK -47 rifles arrived the community in their numbers and went straight to their targeted house and whisked away seven people at gun point.
He gave the names of the abducted victims, which comprised of father, mother and their six daughters as Martha Malachy, Ladi Malachy, Patience Malachy, Lucky Malachy, Promise Malachy, Lucky Malachy, Inama Malachy and Peter Malachy.
A community leader from the area who preferred anonymity also confirmed the latest abduction while speaking to our reporter through the telephone on Saturday, morning.

He said it was upon receiving information of the invasion of bandits into the community, which he said is a distance of two kilometers from Kagarko town, he alerted the security operatives.
“It was upon when I received a distress call that bandits have invaded Kurmin -Uwa village, I quickly alerted the security operatives, but I don’t know if they later responded,”he said.
The community leader a contact is yet to be established with the abductors of the victims, even as he expressed concern over continuous bandits attacks on several villages under Kagarko LGA.
A security source from the area, who preferred anonymity said he is not aware of the latest abduction of the eight family members but said he will find out and revert later.
“Actually I am just hearing about the latest abduction from you because we have in the forest since on Tuesday, trying to locate the bandits hideout around Kachia forest in order to rescue those that were abducted in Katari on Wednesday, but I will find out,” he said.
The spokesman of the Kaduna state police command DSP Hassan Mansur did pick calls nor reply to text message sent to his phone over the latest abduction.
