Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspects, Godwin Mngumi, 25, and Nnaji Obalum, in connection with the killing of a retired judge, Justice Ifeoma Okogwu, in the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Edafe Bright, who disclosed this in a statement, said Mngumi was arrested in Anambra State.
According to him, Mngumi, a security guard at the late judge’s residence, invited two other persons to join him in carrying out the crime.
He said the suspect was arrested by operatives of the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following actionable intelligence.

“The police have arrested one Godwin Mngumi, 25, the security guard who allegedly murdered Justice Ifeoma Okogwu (Rtd),” Bright said.
He added that the late judge’s phone was also recovered from the suspect.
Bright further explained that Mngumi confessed to inviting his friend, one Nnaji Obalum, and another suspect, still at large, to the house, where they jointly carried out the act.
He said Obalum has also been arrested, while a manhunt for the third suspect is ongoing.
Recall that the retired judge was found dead on November 23 at her home in Asaba, with her hands and mouth tied, while the entire house was ransacked by her assailants.
The night security guard assigned to her residence was said to have absconded shortly after the incident, raising suspicion of internal collaboration.
