Sixteen members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Speaker of the House, Martins Amaewhule, announced the development during plenary on Friday.
Amaewhule also disclosed that he had resigned from the PDP and would be joining the defecting lawmakers in the APC.
