The member representing Kiru/Bebeji constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker was expulsed from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) two months over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of party dues.
However, on Monday morning, Jibrin announced his defection to the APC on his verified social media accounts.
He said that he and his supporters had resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankwasiyya movement and endorse President Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

The decision was reached during a gathering in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government area of Kano State.
Jibrin wrote, “Today, in a show of solidarity, I was warmly received by thousands of my constituents in my hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano. The gathering resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankwasiyya, join the APC, and endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
“Earlier, about 2,000 Ulamas from my constituency offered special prayers for the President and for peaceful coexistence, progress, and development of Kiru/Bebeji, Kano, and Nigeria at large.”
