Missing Bayero University Student Found After Four Years in Kaduna

A student of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), identified as Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, has been found alive four years after he was declared missing.

Shafiu, a resident of Janbulo area in Kano, reportedly went missing in 2021, sparking a prolonged search by family members and friends who had lost hope of finding him.

According to reports, the missing student was discovered in Kaduna State over the weekend. One of his relatives confirmed the development to THR News, saying Shafiu was found in a village under the care of an Islamic scholar.

“He was seen in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who said he found him a long time ago. The scholar explained that when he found him, Shafiu appeared to be mentally unstable,” the family member said.

The family expressed joy over his return after years of uncertainty, adding that he is now reunited with them and in stable condition.
