Kano Pillars Condemn Post-Match Disorder, Ban Unruly Fans for 10 Seasons

Kano Pillars Football Club has condemned the unruly conduct of a few individuals following their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 8 encounter against Shooting Stars SC, which ended 1-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

In a statement released on Sunday by the club’s Media and Communications Directorate, the management expressed disappointment over the actions of some misguided persons who attempted to cause disorder immediately after the final whistle.

According to the statement, the situation was swiftly brought under control through the prompt intervention of the club’s stewards and security agencies, ensuring the safety of players, officials, and fans.

“All players of both teams and match officials left the stadium and its vicinity unhurt and were safely escorted by the security operatives,” the club confirmed.

Kano Pillars also revealed that several individuals involved in the disturbance had been apprehended and handed over to security authorities for investigation and prosecution.

The club pledged full cooperation with the relevant agencies to ensure that those found guilty face the full weight of the law.

As part of its internal disciplinary measures, the management announced a 10-season ban for all identified troublemakers from accessing the Sani Abacha Stadium.

“Kano Pillars FC remains committed to maintaining peace, discipline, and a conducive atmosphere for football in line with the rules of the Nigeria Premier Football League and the Nigeria Football Federation,” the statement added.

The club further appealed to its supporters to continue showing their passion and loyalty in a peaceful and orderly manner, urging them to remain worthy ambassadors of Kano Pillars FC.
