The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has launched an investigation into the death of one of its volunteer personnel, Buhari Haruna, who died during the distribution of palliative items in Tudun Wada.
In a press release issued on March 14, 2026, the command expressed condolences to the family, relatives, and residents of Tudun Wada Local Government Area in Kano State over the incident.
According to the statement, Haruna served as a supporting (volunteer) staff member attached to the NSCDC divisional office in Tudun Wada. The command described his death as a significant loss not only to his family but also to the corps and the people of the area.
The NSCDC said the investigation was ordered by the State Commandant to determine the actual cause of the volunteer’s death and ensure that justice is served.
While appealing to the public to remain calm, the command also prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
The statement was signed by Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the Corps Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Command, on behalf of the State Commandant.
