The Kano business community, comprising representatives of 25 major markets across the state, has endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term in office.
The endorsement was made on Monday, September 28, 2026, during a dinner held at Africa House, Government House, Kano.
The business leaders, led by elder statesman and businessman Alhaji Sabiu Bako, pledged their support for Governor Yusuf’s re-election bid on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsement was facilitated by Alhaji Munzali Mazaf, who brought together representatives of various markets across the state.
The business community gave the governor a standing ovation and declared its support for his re-election in the 2027 governorship election.
The business leaders said they were encouraged by the governor’s policies and programmes aimed at strengthening economic activities and creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
They cited the modernisation of some markets through the construction of access roads and the installation of solar power systems, as well as urban renewal projects, efforts to ease doing business and tax reforms.
The business community assured Governor Yusuf of its continued cooperation and support for the development of Kano State.
