Gov Yusuf Mourns Communication Scholar, Dr. Musa Adamu Labaran

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned communication scholar, Musa Adamu Labaran, who died on Monday after a brief illness.

In a condolence message issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the late academic’s death as a painful loss to the academic community, media profession, and society at large.

The governor said Dr. Labaran, of the Faculty of Communication at Bayero University Kano, was an accomplished scholar, mentor, and intellectual whose contributions to communication studies, media scholarship, and public discourse would remain enduring.

According to the statement, the deceased devoted his life to teaching, research, and mentoring students and media professionals, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, integrity, and selfless service.

Governor Yusuf noted that the late scholar’s death had created a huge vacuum in academia and the communication profession due to his commitment to knowledge dissemination and intellectual development.

He prayed for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, while also asking for strength and comfort for his family, colleagues, students, and loved ones.

The governor further extended his condolences to the academic community, media practitioners, friends, and associates of the late scholar.
