APC Ward Chairman Shot Dead in Kano

Suspected kidnappers have killed the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman of Rantan Ward in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Garba Buba.

The attackers reportedly invaded the Rantan community on Sunday night and opened fire on residents, killing another resident identified as Sulaiman Zunduma.

A resident, Hamza Isah Rantan, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, saying Buba was shot during the attack and later died in hospital while receiving treatment.

He added that Zunduma, who was also shot during the attack, died instantly.

Hamza expressed condolences to the victims’ families and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and the recovery of those injured.

As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

The attack occurred hours after the rescue of the Sarkin Noman of Kano State, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, who was abducted by gunmen in Chiromawa community, Garun Malam Local Government Area.

Five people were reportedly shot and injured during the attack, which occurred at about 11pm on Saturday.
