An open letter to the Executive Chairman of Kuje Area Council

Dear Honourable Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo,

I am writing to formally congratulate you on your election as the Chairman of Kuje Area Council.

Once again, please accept my sincere congratulations on your well-deserved victory. I wish you a successful and fruitful tenure in office, and I strongly believe that your administration will bring rapid development to our locality and the nation at large. May God guide you on the path of good leadership and grant you the wisdom to fulfill the promises you made to the people of our area council during your election campaign.

However, I wish to use this medium to draw your attention to some priority needs of the people of our area council.

As you know, Kuje Area Council is populated largely by farmers. Our area council could have become a major food production hub if previous administrations had paid greater attention to the needs of farmers. The farmers in our locality are hardworking, but they lack adequate support and incentives. I am confident that if they are encouraged through the provision of farm implements, modern tools, agrochemicals, and fertilizers, they can significantly boost food production and help feed the entire Federal Capital Territory.

As a grassroots leader who is close to the people, you can greatly improve their morale and productivity by making the provision of these essential farming inputs a matter of priority and urgency.

In addition, our locality needs good roads that will connect rural communities with urban centers within the council. A functional road network will benefit farmers and other residents by easing the transportation of goods and services. It will also attract investors to establish agro-based cottage industries in the area, where they can readily access raw materials for production.

Furthermore, your administration will be able to generate substantial revenue from such economic activities. This would represent a positive departure from previous administrations that relied heavily on tenement rates and revenue generated from local markets.

I also urge your administration to make quality education a central pillar of its governance agenda. Investing in education at the grassroots level is one of the most effective ways to empower young people, reduce poverty, and secure the future of our communities.

I respectfully request that your administration focus on upgrading school infrastructure by rehabilitating dilapidated primary school buildings and ensuring that our children learn in safe, conducive, and modern classrooms. It is equally important to provide educational materials through partnerships with relevant stakeholders to supply textbooks, notebooks, and other learning resources to underserved schools.

Furthermore, I encourage the establishment of a transparent scholarship and bursary scheme to support brilliant but indigent students in pursuing their education. Your administration should also work closely with relevant educational authorities to ensure that primary school teachers receive adequate training and timely incentives to enhance the quality of education in our schools.

By prioritizing education, your administration will leave a lasting legacy that future generations will remember and appreciate.

I wish you good health, wisdom, and success as you lead Kuje Area Council to greater heights. May your tenure be marked by meaningful development, prosperity, and positive transformation for all residents.

Once again, I wish you every success in your tenure as Chairman of Kuje Area Council.

Yours faithfully,

Adamu Abdullahi
