The son of the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs, Usman Darazo, has obtained the nomination form to contest the All Progressives Congress primary for the Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
According to a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Monday by his political associate, Khamis Darazo, the aspirant formally accepted calls by stakeholders, youths, and political supporters across the constituency to join the 2027 race.
Khamis said the decision followed wide consultations and mounting pressure from constituents who believe Darazo possesses the leadership qualities and political experience required to provide effective representation.
He noted that the move signals the emergence of a political movement focused on inclusive leadership, youth empowerment, and grassroots development in the constituency.

“Usman Darazo remains committed to advancing policies and initiatives that will improve education, economic opportunities, infrastructure, and the overall welfare of the people of Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency,” he said.
Khamis further disclosed that Darazo played a significant role in mobilising support for President Tinubu during the build-up to the 2023 APC presidential primaries, as well as during the general elections.
He said the aspirant was actively involved in grassroots consultations and strategic mobilisation efforts that contributed to Tinubu’s emergence as the party’s presidential candidate and eventual victory at the polls.
He added that many youths, elders, and political stakeholders within the constituency had already expressed strong support for Darazo’s ambition.
Khamis described him as a leader with the vision, capacity, and grassroots connection needed to deliver purposeful representation at the National Assembly, noting that endorsements from various communities in Darazo and Ganjuwa reflect growing confidence in his candidacy.
