Murtala Sule Garo has pledged loyalty and commitment to the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, following his nomination as Deputy Governor, pending confirmation by the Kano State House of Assembly.
In a statement released shortly after the announcement, Garo expressed gratitude to Allah for what he described as divine guidance and blessings throughout his life and political career. He also appreciated Governor Yusuf for the confidence reposed in him by forwarding his name for screening and confirmation.
“I give all praise and gratitude to Allah for His mercy and guidance,” Garo said. “I also extend my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for finding me worthy of this nomination.”
Garo described the nomination as a call to higher responsibility and selfless service to the people of Kano State. He further thanked party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their prayers and encouragement, noting that their support has been a major source of strength.
The nominee used the opportunity to call for unity within the party, urging aspirants who were not selected, as well as party members, to set aside differences and work together ahead of the 2027 elections.
“I appeal to all party faithful, including those who aspired for this position but were not nominated, to embrace unity and work together in the spirit of brotherhood for the success of our great party,” he said.
Garo reaffirmed his commitment to loyalty, cooperation, and dedicated service, pledging to use his experience to support the governor in delivering on his mandate and advancing the development of Kano State.
