The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress, Samha Inuwa, over alleged mutilation of the Nigerian currency.
The arrest was carried out by operatives of the EFCC Kano Zonal Directorate on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media showing the actress allegedly using naira notes to clean mucus from her nose.
According to the anti-graft agency, the video prompted swift action, leading to efforts to trace the actress, who was subsequently taken into custody for questioning.
The EFCC disclosed that Inuwa is currently being held at the Commission’s detention facility as investigations into the matter continue.
The Commission further stated that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
