Honourable Abubakar Kabir Abubakar (Abba Bichi) has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) sole candidate for the Bichi Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC on Saturday, 17 May 2026, commenced its primaries for the 2027 general elections with contests for House of Representatives seats across the country, where Hon. Abubakar Kabir secured victory in the Bichi Federal Constituency.
Abubakar Kabir Bichi, emerged victorious after all 11 APC ward chairmen in Bichi Federal Constituency endorsed him as the unopposed sole candidate.
Speaking during affirmation President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, described Abba Bichi’s representation as accessible, responsive, and development-driven, citing constituency projects and youth engagement initiatives.
Masari noted that although the APC was conducting primary elections across the country, Bichi was among the constituencies attracting special attention because of the lawmaker’s developmental achievements and strong connection with the people.
He emphasized the importance of supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, and other APC candidates in the 2027 general election.
The affirmations was attended by several APC leaders, including Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Hon. Sada Soli representing the Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Mu’azu Rabi’u Darma, among others.
Also in attendance were the Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi; former Kano State Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi; the Chairman of Bichi Local Government; and other party stakeholders.
The event brought together chairpersons from the 11 wards of Bichi Federal Constituency, women leaders, youth leaders, and other major political stakeholders across Kano State.
Speaking during the event, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf commended the representation of Abubakar Kabir Abubakar since his election into the House of Representatives in 2019.
“I want to commend Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar for his quality representation. Since 2023, I have prayed to Almighty Allah for the opportunity to work closely with him, and today we are working together for the development of Bichi and Kano State,” Governor Yusuf said.
He further described his constituency projects as exceptional and commendable, especially in the areas of youth empowerment and community development initiatives.
Governor Yusuf also called on the people of Bichi to re-elect Abubakar Kabir Abubakar in the 2027 general election, expressing confidence in his dedication and leadership qualities.
Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar thanked Almighty Allah for emerging as the APC candidate for Bichi Federal Constituency and pledged to continue working for the development of the constituency if re-elected in 2027.
Abubakar Kabir, who serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation in the House of Representatives, reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Bichi Local Government Area.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ongoing infrastructural projects across Northern Nigeria and Kano State.
“We sincerely appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the projects being executed in our region, including the Kano–Daura Road, Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Road, and Kano–Maiduguri Road projects,” Abba Bichi said.
He also praised the proposed ₦1 trillion Kano Metropolitan Rail Service project aimed at improving urban transportation, boosting economic activities, and easing traffic congestion in the Kano metropolis.
Abubakar Kabir Abubakar reaffirmed that Bichi Local Government, with over 300,000 registered voters, would continue to support President Tinubu and the APC in securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
Saturday’s victory after affirmation as sole candidate Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar continues to enjoy from the people of Bichi Federal Constituency as he seeks another term in the House of Representatives.
