YOSPIS urges peaceful, responsible Eid celebrations in Kano, Nigeria

The Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) has called on residents of Kano and Nigerians at large to celebrate Eid peacefully and responsibly.

In a press release issued to mark the festive period, the organization extended warm felicitations to Muslims, describing Eid as a time for gratitude, reflection, unity, and compassion. It noted that the celebration highlights important values such as sacrifice, patience, and peaceful coexistence, which are essential for community harmony.

YOSPIS urged citizens to avoid violence, reckless behavior, and substance abuse during the celebrations. It also advised residents to respect law enforcement agencies and adhere strictly to safety guidelines.

The group further encouraged Nigerians to promote unity, tolerance, and mutual respect, while extending kindness to vulnerable groups and the less privileged.

Commending the relative peace being experienced in Kano, YOSPIS called on residents to sustain and strengthen the peaceful atmosphere during and after the Eid festivities.

The organization also acknowledged the efforts of security agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders across Nigeria for their continued commitment to maintaining peace and stability.

According to YOSPIS, peaceful Eid celebrations serve as a reminder of shared humanity and collective responsibility, especially at a time when the nation seeks greater unity and social cohesion.

The statement, signed by Zainab Nasir Ahmad, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to promoting a healthy, safe, and morally upright society.

It expressed hope that the Eid celebration would bring lasting peace, joy, and prosperity to Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
