President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has used his 2025 Christmas message to urge Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance, and religious freedom, warning that no citizen should suffer for their faith.
In a message released on Thursday, President Tinubu highlighted the significance of Christmas as a time to reflect on hope, love, and the birth of Jesus Christ, calling on all Nigerians to promote harmony across religious and ethnic divides.
“Since assuming office in 2023, I have been committed to safeguarding the security, unity, and stability of our nation. All Nigerians have the right to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity,” Tinubu said.
The President also praised the contributions of Christians to national development, noting their work in caring for the vulnerable, promoting peace, and fostering community solidarity. He stressed that these values, inspired by the love of Christ, should guide Nigerians beyond the festive season.
Highlighting ongoing government engagement with leaders of major faiths, Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s efforts to prevent religious conflict and strengthen peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
As families travel across the country for the holiday, the President called on citizens to exercise patience on the roads and observe safety measures, wishing all travelers a safe journey.
Ending on a hopeful note, Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to unite in building a stronger nation, one that future generations can be proud of, while extending Merry Christmas and early New Year greetings.
