Tinubu Appoints Tunji Disu as New Inspector-General of Police

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Tunji Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), replacing Kayode Egbetokun.

A presidency source confirmed the development to ARISE News on Tuesday, noting that an official announcement would be made shortly.

“AIG Tunji Disu is the new IGP. Confirmed,” the source said, adding that the information had received double confirmation.

Disu takes over from Kayode Egbetokun, who had been serving as Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police.

Efforts to reach the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.

Further details regarding the leadership transition are expected to be communicated in due course.
