There was a low turnout of voters in the ongoing by-election in Kano Municipal Local Government Area, reports indicate.
As of 10:12 a.m., observations from several polling units across the local government showed that no voters had arrived to cast their ballots in most of the polling stations.
A correspondent of THR News who visited some polling units in Shahuchi, Sheshe, and Jakara wards reported that electoral officials were present but waiting for voters to turn up.
It was also observed that some polling units had no party agents representing the contesting political parties.
Meanwhile, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), an opposition party, is not participating in the by-election currently taking place in the local government area.
