Security operatives have arrested a suspected bandit known online as Sule Yellow, who gained notoriety on TikTok for allegedly displaying kidnapping activities and ransom proceeds during livestreams.
Sule Yellow came into the public spotlight after appearing in a TikTok livestream that went viral on March 4.
In the video, he appeared alongside another suspected bandit identified as Auta, as well as other members of their gang. During the livestream, the group allegedly discussed their criminal activities and boasted about kidnapping victims for ransom.
In another video currently circulating on X, Sule Yellow is seen in handcuffs and surrounded by soldiers while being interrogated about weapons reportedly belonging to his gang.
The footage also shows security officers displaying a polythene bag believed to contain ransom money allegedly recovered from a recent kidnapping linked to the group.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
His detention comes amid ongoing military operations targeting bandit groups responsible for attacks on communities and kidnappings for ransom across the country.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Police Command on Monday announced the arrest of four individuals suspected of supplying logistics to kidnappers.
According to the police spokesperson in the state, the suspects have made “useful confessional statements” that are assisting ongoing investigations.
