The Presidency has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with the Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Presidency described the claim as a fabrication and urged Nigerians to disregard it entirely.
According to the statement, Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President, while Muri-Okunola continues to serve in his current role as Principal Private Secretary. The Presidency stressed that no such replacement has taken place.
The statement attributed the viral report to “mischievous purveyors of fake news” whose intention, it said, is to create disharmony within the government.
The Presidency also called on media organisations and the public to always verify information before publishing or sharing it on social media.
The statement was signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and dated December 25, 2025.
