Police foil Bandits’ attack, rescue 25 victims in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Police Command has foiled bandits’ attack on Kuraje village in Damba, Gusau Local Government Area of the state, on Friday.

A large group of bandits reportedly attacked Kuraje village, abducting 10 women along with their 15 children.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said operatives of force swung into action upon receiving a distress report.

“Joint Police patrol teams from Damba Division and the Department of Operations, Gusau, working in collaboration with the Community Protection Guards (CPG), swiftly mobilized to the scene.

“The team confirmed the incident, pursued the fleeing bandits, and engaged them in a coordinated and strategic operation,” DSP Yazid said.

The Command commended the professionalism and swift response of the operatives which led to the rescue of all the 25 abducted victims unhurt.

The police added that the victims were immediately relocated to Sabon Gari Damba for proper profiling.

“The rescued women and children have since been reunited with their families.”

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, lauded the bravery and dedication of the officers involved in the operation.

CP Maikaba further reassured the public of the Command’s commitment in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
