A Kano State High Court sitting at Bompai in Kano Municipal has sentenced one Adamu Yakubu and two others to seven years’ imprisonment each after finding them guilty of armed robbery.
The trio were charged after they allegedly snatched a mobile phone from one Alhaji Abduljabbar at knifepoint.
The victim raised an alarm, leading to their immediate arrest.
The prosecution counsel, Barrister Aliyu Yusuf Kabara, presented four witnesses to prove the case of conspiracy and armed robbery.

The defendants testified in their own defence.
Delivering judgment, Justice Hadiza Maliki, said the prosecution had established the case beyond reasonable doubt, and accordingly convicted the defendants.
The judge sentenced them to seven years’ imprisonment without fine option.
