The Kano Media Advocacy Network (K-MAN) extended its heartfelt congratulations to General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.), former Chief of Defence Staff, on his well-deserved appointment as the Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Musa was confirmed by the senate on Wednesday following his screening at the chamber.
The statement reads, His track record in coordinating military operations, enhancing inter-service cooperation, and promoting reforms within the defence sector underscores his capacity to provide strategic and effective leadership at this critical time in Nigeria’s history.

“As he assumes office, K-MAN expresses strong confidence in his ability to confront and address the persistent security challenges affecting the nation. With rising concerns over violent crimes, terrorism, banditry, and communal tensions across parts of the country, Nigerians are hopeful that his tenure will usher in a more stable, secure, and peaceful environment for all.”
However, K-MAN called on Hon. Minister Christopher Gwabin Musa to Deploy his vast experience, networks, and all available resources toward restoring sustainable peace and security across Northern Nigeria; Give special attention to emerging security threats in Kano State, ensuring improved intelligence gathering, swift response mechanisms, and increased federal support for local security efforts; and Strengthen strategic collaboration and liaison with the Kano State Government, as effective synergy between federal and state authorities is critical for curbing crime, safeguarding communities, and promoting coordinated security operations.
They urged him to Prioritize the development of a modern, community-centered defence strategy that enhances public trust and involvement in national security.
K-MAN said it firmly supports every initiative aimed at restoring public safety and believes that General Musa’s leadership will contribute significantly to Nigeria’s march toward lasting peace and national stability.
