The Supreme Court has dismissed a suit seeking the retrial of Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, over the murder of Kudirat Abiola.
Kudirat Abiola, wife of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, was assassinated in Lagos on June 4, 1996.
Al-Mustapha, alongside Lateef Shofolahan, an aide to Kudirat Abiola, had been accused of involvement in her killing.
The apex court’s decision effectively brings to an end renewed legal efforts to reopen the case.
