JUST IN: Sule Lamido Threatens Legal Action Over Denial of PDP Chairmanship Nomination Form

Former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has threatened to take legal action following his inability to obtain the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Lamido, who arrived at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday morning to purchase the form, expressed disappointment over what he described as an attempt to frustrate his ambition.

Speaking to journalists in the presence of his supporters, the former Foreign Affairs Minister reaffirmed his readiness to contest for the chairmanship position at the party’s elective national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He vowed to seek legal redress if the situation was not addressed and he remained unable to obtain the form.

Lamido had earlier announced his intention to contest the position in a post on his verified Facebook page, stating:

“By the grace of God, I shall today, Monday, 27th October 2025, by 11 a.m., be at Wadata Plaza, the national headquarters of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to purchase the nomination form to run for the office of National Chairman.”

Meanwhile, reports indicate that PDP governors have endorsed former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, as the party’s consensus candidate for the position.

Before the endorsement, Lamido, Turaki, and former governors Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano and Ahmed Makarfi of Kaduna had all declared interest in the race for the chairmanship.
