JUST IN: Kano Police Recover Stolen Government Vehicle, Arrest Suspect

The Kano State Police Command has recovered a stolen white Toyota Hilux belonging to the Governor’s Advance Team, which was reported missing from the Government House on November 11, 2025.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, ordered the closure of all entry and exit points in the state and directed operatives to recover the vehicle and arrest those responsible.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Ya’u Inuwa, a driver at the Government House, was arrested following intelligence-led investigations.

The vehicle was recovered at Unguwa Uku, Yan Awaki Quarters, in Kano, and is currently in police custody. The suspect has reportedly confessed to conspiring with two other individuals, who are still at large.

The Police Command commended the prompt report from officials of the Government House and assured the public of its commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice.
