A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano, Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, popularly known as Little, has expressed deep sympathy to traders at Singer Market over the devastating fire inferno that ravaged the market, resulting in loss of lives and property worth billions of naira.
Little made this known in a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, where he called on the Kano State Government to promptly compensate the victims within weeks or, at most, a month to cushion the impact of the tragedy.
He also appealed to both the state and federal governments to urgently equip the State Fire Service with modern firefighting facilities to prevent a recurrence of such disasters.
The ADC chieftain further commended private companies that deployed firefighting trucks, noting that their intervention played a crucial role in containing the inferno.

“The government should compensate all victims within days or months and provide the necessary firefighting facilities that will help prevent future occurrences. This is one of the core responsibilities of government. The inferno has exposed the government’s inability to adequately equip the State Fire Service with modern equipment. It is high time the government did the needful.
“I pray that May Allah (SWT) forgive those who lost their lives and replenish the losses of victims who lost billions of naira,” he said.
